Why call it summer holidays when it is usually 'summer' here in Malaysia - sometimes blisteringly so? Well, no matter - I'm finally on a well-deserved break and have since managed to squeeze in some time to hang out with daughter who enjoys shopping just as much as I do. So far, we have have one very fruitful shopping outing and we have plans to go again in a few days.
Apart from spending my hard-earned cash, we have made chocolate brownies at home - following my sister-in-law's easy peasy recipe. Daughter made it with a bit of advice from me, and lots of washing up from me - but it turned out good in the end. Had it for tea yesterday and everyone had seconds, except for hubby who felt 'jelat' due to the richness of the chocolate bits in it. To us regular chocolate lovers, it was heaven.
Visited my mum to collect our share of home-made bak chang which the kids love - only pohpoh's are the best, they say. A decent amount of 20 chang which will be consumed in no time at all.
A trip to the SS2 market on Saturday morning set me back about RM180 for pork - especially the roasted trotter and fresh one for braising. Daughter loves her 'fatty' pork and the next few days will see us chowing down on the braised roasted pig trotter with mushrooms as well as the pig trotter in vinegar which Daughter has yet to try. Yummy!!
Out for dim sum and then a movie 'Captain America' today Later meeting the in-laws for a gathering at the columbarium to remember hubby's gran on her first year death anniversary and then heading out for a family dinner. Just another family weekend with lots to do.
