Wow! I finally managed to 'create' a blog, didn't know it was that easy. Now my poor daughter has to contend with her tech-savvy mum being more that tech-savvy than just facebooking. Never knew this was a verb till I went onto Facebook; and now I check it everyday just to keep up with friends from all over the world.
And why, you may ask, do I have time to do all this. No, I'm not just twiddling my fingers and toes at home with nothing to do but while away my time. True, my two kids are big uns; number 1 has flown the nest and comes home during the university holidays only while number 2 is going into Form 3. Well, it is the holiday season after all, even teachers like me have holidays and I am enjoying mine - doing nothing but eat, shop and sleep. Ah, bliss!
What about the husband? Yes, he is in the picture but work demands his time. Like me, he is a teacher but at a college. So while he is hard at work earning the mega bucks (get real!) I am taking my two kids out every other day. All good things will come to an end, I suppose but not before Christmas. Can't wait for the pressies to be opened and for the ham to be savoured... turkey is just too expensive it is unrealistic. With all the foreboding predictions for next year, we do what we can to have a good time on a budget. Family is what matters most, and it is best to remember this when the new year rolls forward.
